Gexa Energy FAQs
When you sign up for a Gexa Energy plan, the company runs a credit check. If your credit score doesn’t meet Gexa’s standards, you’ll need to pay a deposit. However, in some cases, the provider will waive the deposit. You can also look for no-deposit plans on SaveOnEnergy’s marketplace to avoid the deposit and credit check requirements.
If you have a fixed-rate plan, Gexa Energy will charge an early termination fee (ETF) if you cancel or switch providers while your contract is still active. The amount varies depending on the contract length. For example, the ETF on a 12-month plan is $150, but for a 24-month plan, it’s $295. Your plan’s ETF will be listed on its Electricity Facts Label (EFL). Gexa won’t charge the fee if you have to cancel because you’re moving outside its service area.
The Gexa Energy rates on SaveOnEnergy include all fees except taxes, so you won’t come across any major surprises on your bill. However, your actual bill may differ depending on your location, plan, and usage level.
